The only reason I haven't quit my job is _________ I'm in the military, so I can't quit. But, even if I could I can't give up the $75K a year salary, non-contributory pension, and free health care!

Coworkers and honestly working anywhere else wouldn't be any better.

Commute and even the flexibility to work from home if need be.

I have a telecommuting job. I can put up with an awful lot to avoid a soul crushing commute to be a corporate drone in an open floor plan office. As long as the miracle of direct deposit continues and I'm not getting run ragged flying all over the world, I'll stick with this job unless a better telecommuting opportunity lands in my lap.

The inability to be hired anywhere else because of age discrimination. I loathe my job.

1. I like the people I work with.
2. The perks.
3. The raises.
4. When I tried to leave, they made a counter that was very competitive.

…because I can't find a job that pays more for less work…AND I ned money to live the lifestyle I want.
I'm working because I want money -- period. I'm 55 and planning to retire as soon as I hit 65 and qualify for Medicare, my pension and decent Soc. Sec.

For me, liking co-workers doesn't even enter into it. Anyone I like I can see away from the job. When I'm retired I can meet them anytime they want: lunch dinner, even breakfast!

I'm 57. I telecommute. My plan is to retire 8 years from now on December 31 at age 65 1/2. I have adopted the same mindset. As long as the miracle of direct deposit continues, I'm no longer fussy about what I do for a living as long as it doesn't run me ragged with business travel.
