I wear a hard plastic badge holder attached to a retractable clip on my collar. The badge holder has room for multiple cards and I can just slide whichever one I need out of the holder when I need it. I don't hear any clickity clackety noises either.

That's what I use, clipped to my belt. Still visible to security, and accessible for entering secure doors, just flops around a bit if I walk fast.

I have a retractable on a lanyard, however when I get up and go I take it from my desk and slip it in my back pocket.

Sounds like you have a job which means you are paid. And not a slave. Just a whiny over-exaggerator. Be grateful for a job.

I agree. There are numerous people out there that would be more than happy to have your job, and not complain about wearing a lanyard with badges on it.

Why not clip the items with a binder clip? Easily accessible when required but not rattling when you walk.

I don't know what kind of work you do but if you can't solve a simple problem like what to do with the crap on your lanyard...

I like wearing my lanyard. Keeps people from asking "let me see your ID". When I'm out and about, no problem. At my desk in my office I can leave it off, especially since I need my badge to log into my computer.

Can be dangerous near machinery. Wal-mart has the associates use this machine for boxes that smashes them down and people have had their name tags get stuck in the machine and have got injured.
