My husband is a painting contractor. Yes, he's hired a registered sex offender but he's always been present on the job working alongside his employees. One of the best workers he's ever had was a registered sex offender. They can be the best workers if you give them the opportunity.
Clearly jobs like a Nanny, babysitter, caregiver, security guard, etc... absolutely not.

Just a reminder.... some people are falsely convicted

No. Even if I was ok with it, i think the customers would not be.

What businesses tell their customers about their employees personal details?

I work (and hire) remotely, so I don’t do any type of background check or investigation into criminal background.

We hired an in-home service provider who was a registered sex offender. He was charged at age 20ish and he got a teen age 16+ pregnant in a state with an age of consent of 18 and no Romeo and Juliet law. He’s in his 50s now. I met him and felt perfectly fine about him. Would I leave him here alone with my teenage daughter? No (nor would I do that with any random service-provider!).

Depends on the offense. There's a big difference between a rapist and a guy who got drunk and stupid and peed in an alley at 19.

This is exactly what I was thinking. If I could verify a victimless crime like that, I would hire one as an off-site contractor. (I'm an at-home freelancer, so no office etc.)

I would have to take into account the fact that, if people found out, it would have negative consequences for business. That is why only off-site and non-employee.

Curious how you feel about the current case where the 14y/o girl is in court over child porn (sexting pictures of herself to others) ~ if convicted, she will be labeled a sex offender.

I'm serious, not a rhetorical question. There's a HUGE variance in "sex offenses", from peeing in 'public' on up.
