$150k isn't that much...and why wouldn't you take your family with you?
$150k USD is a lot in Asia, most white collar workers don't make more than $50k USD in Asia. That's because the tax system isn't as punishing there. If you make $150k here, you are taking home about $115k after taxes. In Asia, $50k job is about $50k. Since the pay is all post tax, businesses pays the taxes for you.

"Asia" is pretty broad. What specific countries are you talking about?
True but we don't know the OP's situation. For him, it was.
If someone was making $90k or less, they probably should take it.
Why? It depends on alot of other factors, does this person have a significant other they love and like spending time with? Do they have kids, aging parents, medical issues that would be exasperbated in smog and extreme heat?
All sorts of other issues than income. If the person was homeless with nobody and no medical issues ... then sure why not.
Maybe it was discussed in this thread, but just how long are these 4 visits? If they're a week to ten days, I might for a few years to put some serious money in the bank.
The average American makes about $35k a year. All moves aren't permanent. Spending a couple of years overseas can set one up for greater promotions when they return to the US.
I doubt the people being offered overseas jobs at $150 are the same people making $35.

you'd be ok with seeing your toddler aged children and your wife four times a year for a week or 10 days? And for a few years, so that they are in elementary school by the time you are living in the same house again?
3 months ago you were living in Singapore looking to move back to the US.
If you were already there over 3 months ago why are you acting like you just now made the decision and the move?
That's not what I got from that post. While not the clearest, the way I read things from the OP's post three months ago, OP mentioned that the waterfront job he was looking at was in Singapore, and that OP then worked at a well-paying job outside of the US and was planning to "transition back" to the US before looking into taking the job that would let him "touch the ocean" in Singapore.

Isn't this how military assignments and deployment work?
