All of this is common sense. Most employers don't practice this bullet by bullet.

A lot of federal jobs just use the PE exam as a screen for engineers, never the less I still have to interview and still not get jobs

Have one more to add to the list... we were interviewing this past week, and our HR recruiter in Indianapolis was lining up the pool of candidates to schedule the interviews. She had a root canal scheduled on Thursday, and was going to be out for the day. She left a message on her voice mail saying that she was not in the office on Thursday, but would return messages as soon as possible.

So, one of the candidates - who had passed the pre-screen process, and was selected to interview - decided to check in with her on Thursday and see what the status was of the interview process. She made her first call to HR Lady at 6 AM (yes, 6 AM), and then called 16 more times between 6 AM and 2:45 (at which time I assume her battery must have died). And, she left messages each time, despite the recruiter's phone message clearly stating she was out of the office.

Cross that one off the list...

Long time ago I screened applicants for an executive secretary position. One woman told me the reason she left her previous job was "because I was having an affair with a married man, and when he broke it off I had a nervous breakdown and missed too much work so they let me go".

What?! Way TMI.
