Yes and no. I wouldn't have any problem leaving my current job. After some extensive traveling I might start a small business/charity that helps others. If I did not want to go that route, I would donate to some already established charities. I am sure I would volunteer somewhere doing something.
Nope. I'd do the traveling that I haven't been able to do in my lifetime. Seriously, I've only been in a four state radius of my home. I've either been too poor or had no leave to take a long vacation in a destination far from my home. I've been working full time for 37 years. I think having a lot of money will nudge me to retire before full retirement age.
I definitely wouldn't do anything that forces me to be somewhere at such and such time.
I would probably spend the rest of my life doing stuff that gives me bragging rights like..
I love learning new languages. Maybe I would move to a country to "work" on the language I am trying to learn.
I also love fitness. I would "work" to become one of those guys with impossible looking abs that you see on those Men's Fitness magazine. Maybe take kickboxing classes as well. I've always thought that spinning Jean Claude Van Dame used to do was cool.
Say tomorrow, 10,000,000 was deposited in your checking account, would you still work?
Not in the traditional sense - hold a job for an employer to receive a paycheck.
I'd likely volunteer or do something on a contract basis. Basically, be an individual contributor without having to deal with office politics/drama.
I have a mentor who has been retired but still works part-time. However, she picks and chooses what she wants to do.
