How do I properly train people? I havn't much experience in this field, but I've done an okay job.

How do I get my manager to stop using attitude and excuses?

Hi Movie Lover. If you go to the ASTD web site (American Socieity for Training and Development), they have a free forum where you may be able to get information on Sales training as well as advice from people in the field. Business Balls is another site where you will be able to find great resource material. Good luck.

No "bigger guys" in my enterprise, like my manager - bigger as in bigger build. Its these types that show their arrogance and attitude and bring things down.

I need to tell an older, bigger guy where he stands without him mouthing back at me.

You aren't even explaining the situation so we can't give you much advice. For all we know, your manager could just be telling you to do your job. In most cases, your manager is there to manage YOU and your coworkers, not the other way around. However, the general rule of thumb whenever approaching a sticky/possibly hostile situation is to use respect and fairness. If what you have to say is logical and presented in a respectful manner, others will be much more receptive.
