Mumbai is the only city that ranks in the top 5 in each category.
Abu Dhabi equals Dubai in the 250m+ list, both leading the world.
Panamá City is only two steps behind NYC in the 250m+ list. I knew Panamá had a boom, didn't know it was that strong, and this is a city of just over 1 million people!
Panamá City ranks 6th worldwide in the 200m+ list. Amazingly, its not only the leading Latin American city, but the leading city in all of the Americas in that category.
Manila leads the world in total skyscraper construction. I mean, who knew?!!
Toronto ranks 3rd!!! Toronto!!!!
It is clear as crystal that MANILA is rising from it's fall. Take the lead Manila, Soar High!
That's the problem I have with them too. Mediocrity rules here, unfortunately.
Yeah 1 bloor East, Theatre Tower, Massey Tower, 1 Thomas, Aura and U/C a Libeskind, proposals for twin Fosters and Gehry's plus a legacy including Alsop, Rivell, Stone, I.M Pei, Van Der Rohe and a tower voted as one of the 7 wonders of the modern word by the American Civil Engineer's Association..... mediocre buildings or uninformed mediocre posts...?
Yeah. Even though so many Chinese cities made the list (probably the most cities for any single country), Beijing was not one of them.
Beijing is the political capital of China and one of the most highly populated cities in the world so that is very surprising it would not make the list.
It reminds me of the USA where Washington DC is the political capital of the USA yet it is also very deprived of high-rise architecture/skyscrapers. But Washington DC has only 600,000 people while Beijing has 19 million people so it makes it much more surprising for Beijing to not make the list compared to Washington DC.
Nothing in Washington, D.C. Can be taller than the Washington Monument by law. The second tallest building in the city is 13 stories I think which wouldn't even qualify for this list. Otherwise it would have at least a few skyscrapers by now.
