Why is it cool to bash Americans ? (restaurant, eat)

For some odd reason, people need someone to bash, so people will bash, who they are allowed to bash.
As far as comedy is concerned, there is not much that is allowed anymore, at least, not in the UK.
Or in the US either. The PC thing has put an end to that kind of thing. You won't find American Comics bashing much of anything and when they do it's in a very limited way. Here is where you can bash till your heart's content. So have at it. But when you get bashed please don't whine as is so often the case.
This particular thread was started by a fellow American and the first seven posts were also my fellow countrymen. That seems to me that there was a particular effort made to "stir the pot". The result is what you see. So I guess the bashing here was asked for wasn't it. It really shouldn't bother us (Americans) so why get your BVDs in a bunch? I think some of the bashing is quite humorous. If you get as thin skinned as some here you become a target not the country. But WTH different strokes .......
The U.S. is the veritable poster child of my thusly described countries.
You must be confused again, because if the US fits that description, then almost all countries do as well, including Canada.
