About 157 million passengers on railway transport annually in Oslo (2012):

Metro: 82 mill
local railway lines: 27 mill
Tramway lines: 48 mill

Then of course there is a decent amount of people choosing bus transport in addition to this.

That's fairly sufficient for a city the size of Oslo

Hell no! I don't remember why orange was chosen, but for clarification the public transport has different colours. Green = tram, Blue = bus, White = train. There's no point in changing it now, when everyone are used to the orange colour.

Passengers annually,

commuter rail = 55 million
tram = 56 million
metro = 64 million
Suomenlinna ferry = 1.8 million

There's the infamous pub tram - "Spårakoff". It has only 5 stops, but one tour takes about 40 minutes, so you don't have to hurry with your beer.

BUT, Helsinki also had a "culture tram", discontinued in 2012, where you could listen to live music or watch photos and art. But it was too slow, so it messed up the rest of the schedules.

Yeah, pretty good. Just found the official source with bus stats which says there was 294,7 million passengers on public transport in Oslo 2012.

Bus: 133,2 mill
Metro: 82
Tram: 47,8
Local railway: 27,2
Boat: 4,5

In these numbers the railway commuters further than 30 mins away from the city (or outside Oslo and Akershus) are not counted, because they are not part of the city network.

Number of passengers are likely to rise in the future partially because fewer people get driver's licence these days. Twenty years ago 80% of Norwegians aged 18-24 had a driver's licence, now it's only 67% and sinking. I assume there might be a similar trend in other Nordic countries as well.

In the countryside a car is still a necessity, and 65% of youngsters take their licence immediately at 18, but in the Helsinki region it's down to around 30%, in Turku and Tampere around 40%.

But many who don't have a license drive it later, especially when they start to get kids. My mom for example drove her license at 30.

Oh, right. The Helsinki maps.

Metro. Very easy to get lost in this massive complicated system:

Tram:

Train:

It was on an extra line (5) circling the centre that otherwise don't exist. It was a converted 50's tram and wasn't as fast as newer ones, and it took longer to hop on and off, so it became a roadblock. :/

^^^ Why is Swedish an official language in Finland when only small percentage of people speak it? Sweden doesn't have Finnish as official language.

12% of Americans speak Spanish, that doesn't mean signs are bilingual on roads and stuff.
