He was an idiot to runaway. Instead of standing his ground and trying to make a case he ran off. Now he is stuck in Russia and not able to leave if he wants to because of that.

If he believed in what he was doing so much that shouldn't have mattered. Daniel Ellsberg was willing to go to prison if need be over the pentagon papers. It's called standing up for what you believe in. Snowden ran away like a coward and that is why people have a low view of him.

Actually that is the very definition of being a coward. He didn't want to potentially face the consequences of his actions so he ran away to avoid possible consequences which makes him a coward.

Again if Snowden believe that what he was doing was so just he would've stayed made his case to the public instead of fleeing. Daniel Ellsburg did that Snowden did not.

The same American public who criticizes the government and wants government to stay out of their lives, turns against the person who exposed that same government was invading our privacy, government getting into our lives in the most personal way. This same public now backs that same government and turns on the whistle blower.
What exactly did he expose? Come on you don't remember anything about the powers of surveillance being expanded during the war on terror and how it's been that way since right after 9/11? It's been that way for years and now this guy leaks some info about expanding survalience and all of a sudden it's "shocking"? Give me a break this guy leaked a bunch of documents and then ran away in fear of any type of consequence the guy is a little *****.

You're being unrealistic there. Why dealing with the consequences if he could find a way not to? That'd be stupid, which he isn't.

Why? I don't see the connection.

No, it's whistleblowing. Treason involves helping an enemy not informing the public.
