I agree, just because of the sheer size of Paris, and what it attracts.
It's just in Lyon....I feel more relaxed...which is good for my digestion!

I haven't been in a few years...hoping to go again in 2016. Many Canadians and Americans, overlook Lyon.
Good for us I suppose, but they don't know what they are missing.

Ah yes, a single chunk of grilled beef and fried potatoes. You know food.

Thanks, I do know food. I am crazy enough, along with 99% of the foodies out there, to think that a well prepared piece of meat tastes better than foraged weeds and twigs.

Of course no one would order steak frites at an actual chef-driven place in France (it wouldn't even be on the menu), but for a rustic bistro, yeah, it's an obvious choice.

The world's best cities for foodies - Telegraph

What do you think?

I would add Mexico (any city or even village - Mexico's street food is exceptional). I think Toronto should be on this list too, food in Toronto is exceptional, lots of little cafes, brunch places and small restaurants serving really good food (but only western, for some reason ethnic foods in Toronto are very poor).

Another ranking by English media and surprise, London's near the top and of course is ahead of Paris as is a prerequisite of all rankings by English media.

Lol- yeah many times these 'best' lists are lame and repetitive.

I am not a big fan of Chinese food, except for Sichuan food. Chengdu, Sichuan should be listed on the list!

I like Korean food too. Not fancy but excellent for daily cuisine.

At the least I can't imagine Hanoi, Jaipur, Mendoza, Fez or Chengdu having better eating.

Copenhagen has terrible eating. Very expensive and native Danish food is some of the most boring on earth. There are a few Michelin-type restaurants serving "New Nordic" cuisine which is basically foraged nuts and twigs. No thanks; I'll have a steak frites with a nice Bordeaux in Paris.
Why does Chengdu not qualify? Do you know the following dishes all originated from there: kung pao chicken, mapo tofu, double cooked pork, chicken with garlic sauce.... If you ask any Chinese person which city is the most famous for food, Chengdu is very likely to be the first answer.
Now Chengdu has a lot of foreign restaurants too.

I would switch Mexico City for Copenhagen but otherwise I think the list is good
