The UK has a proud history of standing up against Fascism, and we have no major parties of the far right unlike many other countries in Europe, and have never been ruled by a fascist dictatorship. Or have you forgotten the Spanish Civil War, Hitler's Germany or Mussolini's Italy. Even today British politics is dominated by the main stream parties, which just goes to show how little of the world the person who constructed that map knows.

Even our neighbour France has a more succesful and popular fascist movement in it's National Front than the UK, and the same applies to other countries and Eastern Europe.

The irony is, the UK has one of the lowest levels of fascist support and has no major fascist political parties, and the BNP has never even won one seat in parliament, whilst the most well known fascist movement in Europe is Germany's Pegida. Even the US with Donald Trump a real pssibility for the Republican candidacy is looking a lot more right wing than the UK.

What killed the BNP?

If Pegida counts as fascist, you could throw UKIP into that pot too.

UKIP's only objectives are to take Britain out of the EU and increase our border controls. Pegeda/Pegida is more concerned with the Islamisation of the West and in this respect has more in common with the now virtually defunt English Defence League (EDL), which held similar views in relation to Islamisation. It's also worth noting that the former head of the EDL Tommy Robinson has now joined Pegida.

There is a massive difference.
Well, I don't consider them to be massively different. Both are far-right populist movements with an anti-Muslim agenda. I give it to you, though, that UKIP is more subtle in their approach.

Frankly, I consider neither Pegida nor UKIP fascist. Germany's fascist movement is NPD. Which is scoring election results on the national level pretty much in line with BNP.

Here's UKIP's policies, they are hardly radical right wingers or fascist, in fact they are left wingers when compared to what Donald Trump wants to do in the US.

UKIP Manifesto Summary - UKIP

UKIP believes immigration is far too high.

Seven million immigrants came to live in Britain under the last Labour government and another two million have arrived under the Tories.

The pressure on housing and on public services such as schools, hospitals, transport networks, power and water supplies, is far too great.

We must control immigration.

UKIP will:
  • Leave the EU and take back control of our borders
  • End immigration for unskilled jobs for a five-year period to re-balance our work economy
  • Introduce an Australian-style points-based immigration system to assess all potential migrants to Britain on a fair, ethical and equal basis
  • Tackle the problem of sham marriages
  • Introduce a new visa system for workers, visitors, students, families and asylum seekers
  • End access to benefits and free NHS treatment for new immigrants until they have paid tax and NI for five years
  • Require all visitors and new immigrants to the UK to have their own health insurance.
They are hardly goose stepping down our streets and have no agenda in terms of peoples ethnicity, gender, religion etc. They just want to leave the EU and put border controls back in place. It should be noted that a number of UKIP Candidates are from a diversity of ethic and religious backgrounds.

I know about UKIPs policies. I also know that the political reality diverges quite a bit from their neat little programme.
