Ah, the US largest and most visited city. Yes, it is true that a very small part of the city is visited, but the city is so big that even this small part is of a decent size. This lead to the following questions:
The times you have visited New York City, were you overwhelmed or underwhelmed or, perhaps, it was exactly how you imagine it?
It's the best city in the U.S, but not among the best in the world.
As a tourist, NYC is so expensive that it doesn't offer a great value for the money. But when money is no object, NYC is definitely a great place to visit if you're stuck in the U.S.

Feel free to add any explanation.
New York is a fantastic city.
It might be overwhelming to those who have never visited a big city before, however it's certainly not underwhelming.
I was overwhelmed the first few times visiting NYC. The lights, bars, restaurants and late night culture was definitely different to a person like me, from the west coast.
I wish more American cities would be like that. Unfortunately, its doubtful that they would.
Yeah, but when you live in NYC after a while you want to venture out and see new things. It can get really repetitive after a while.
Like my first impression of living (not visiting) in NYC is that it would be bigger lol. Not a bad thing, wasn't bored, just didnt realize I could walk the whole stretch of Manhattan in 8 hours.
Its a good city. not my favorite, but its in the top half.

Wow, returning back to my own hometown of New York. And I really don't miss anything. I just can't believe right after three decades of usual residency over there up to age 30 since Birth, just feels closer to nothing. I really miss NYC in the years of 2003 to 2013. Tons of top rank landmark Independent Cafes especially. Literally 20 to 30+ of these actual relevant icons permanently closed down. Still infinitely much higher amount of Restaurants, Nightlife Venues, Bars. Almost feels completely unrecognizable. Getting worse since 2014 into 2019, and right into 2020/2021/2022. There is like no venue remaining compared to what NYC had compared to the earlier 2000's after 2000/2001/2002. Not a fan of the urban grit 1970s to 1990s up to 2002.
And I recently found out NYC is one of the most expensive spots on Planet Earth just to have overnight shelter in an overly simple Hotel that isn't usually even that luxurious for tourist accommodation. $100 to $200 per night, why? Tons of other cities have enough options for only $30 to $50 per night. Even less in cash funds that doesn't stress out anyone's own wallets or Cards.
Please give me Seoul South Korea, Istanbul Turkey, Dubai UAE, Bucharest Romania, Bangkok Thailand before New York City lately since 2017 to 2019, at least.
The skyline is impressive. The density of the place is impressive compared to other American cities I have been to. Love taking the elevated subway.
It's a nice place to visit for a few days, wouldn't want to live there though.
