Republic of Congo
Both were French colonized countries in Africa
Angola?
Shoot this forum needed to be revived as no one posted in more than a month lol.
Austria
Both are neighboring countries of a more POWERFUL European country.
Both are (and) still mostly to this day Roman Catholic. Though Austria is not as overwhelmingly Catholic, and Ireland is at 75 percent Catholic right now. Even Scotland/Bavaria has striking similarities to those 2 places.
Both are the largest countries by area in the world, it is also sparsely populated outside of the most populous regions. Most of the residents of both countries lives near the US Border, and European area of their respective countries. And also very Cold in the northernmost areas.
Portugal?
This is a hard one as Portugal is probably one of the most unique countries in the world. I guess Greece. Both are amazing tourist destinations in southern europe with rubbish economy. Both were military dictatorships for a while during the Cold War as well. I mean obviously Spain is objectively the most similar country to Portugal but that would be too easy.
