In July I'm going to switch Sweden to Idaho in the US. I'm trying to figure out what "must haves" I should bring along with me. Anyone here at city-data that have any clever thoughts of what things a Scandinavian will be happy she brought with her to the US?
I have lived in the US twice before for shorter periods so I have already put salty licorice and measuring cups (metric system) on my list.
Since you have previously lived abroad I think you pretty much know what it is like.
I would suggest some of your ethnic food in case you are moving somewhere international food stores are not readily available or have limited stock.
I am not sure but I am guessing you drive manual cars, and even though driving automatic cars are easier to drive you might take a bit getting used to. But then again I am guessing you are not bringing a car.
The metric system thing you mentioned was great. Either you learn how to calculate quite fast, learn to think in the European system, or bring your own measuring equipment, per say.
On that note, a small thermometer in Celsius.
On my previous post I meant "driving automatic cars is easier/ automatic cars are easier to drive".
Also, not "learn to think in the European system, but learn to think in the American system."
