Well, there are other options. There could be a sign saying hiring will start on a specified future date.

There's a Now Hiring sign at the entrance to my supermarket, and now I think of this post every time I go to the store.

Okay, I was not going to read your email/text/sign, because I don't believe in reading. But since you commanded me, politely, to read it, I will make an exception.

By the way, "please read this" is more accurate. "Please read" sounds like a general call for more literacy. Yes, I believe in reading, and books are my friends, so I'll continue to do so; thanks for the reminder!
