Dreams are little adventures in the night
where we see things in a different light.
We battle foes we dare not face in the day
and created worlds in which we'd like to stay.
Seeds of change are harbored there -
speeches of equality and being treated fair.
Hopes for the future, glimpses of the past -
spinning and spiraling and falling fast.
First, falling into nothing, then waking with a jolt,
thankful that the morning came and put it to a halt.
We explore our inner selves in ways we can't express,
and expose things about ourselves we usually repress.
Dreams are small safari's for our minds,
where emotion is a lion that preys on all kinds.
Dreams carry messages that we try to relate,
to our lives, to our wishes, to each other and to fate.

Since it is my daughter's birthday, I'm going to post a poem I wrote for her.
There's a little bit of me, in you ~
I can see it in your eyes ~ so blue.
You prove it with the things you do,
and show it with your heart ~ so true.
There is a little bit of you, in me ~
A child's spirit ~ able to be free.
It's like recapturing my youth,
but stepping back to see.
As you grow, you'll be questioning why ~
life goes by in the blink of an aye.
You'll have children of your own,
that you won't believe are almost grown ~
But give one thing a try ~
Look in your child's eyes ~ so blue,
and see your loving heart ~ so true...
Anytime poconoproud. I enjoy reading them. Here's a brand new one I just wrote this morning after finishing cleaning my new home in Tennesee. I was taking a break and sitting on my one piece of furniture in the living room and looking out of my sliding glass door across the patio at the Magnolia tree outside and feeling a peace I haven't known for a long, long time.
TEA AND MAGNOLIAS
There’s a Magnolia tree outside my window pane
It always brings me comfort, even in the rain
Green grass growing just beyond my patio
New Country music playing on my radio
Sitting on my couch, on Sunday afternoon
Wondering if the suns gonna come out soon
Feeling peace under a Tennessee Sky
Sipping Sweet Tea and watching leaves blow by
Thinking about the new friends who lent a hand
Showing genuine kindness I cannot understand
Makes me feel humble and so glad I’m here
Knowing I am home, I’ve lost my fear
Looking around, some old, some new, somehow
Some present, some past merged into my now
A brand new beginning, I turn another page
Enter another reality, another age
In search of my own illusive contentment
New life without regret or resentment
A totally new plane of my existence
Along the road of most resistance
Growing stronger with the examination
Of my very own life’s explanation
Learning the person I wish to be
Understanding the meaning of me
No longer restless and disconnected
Doing just whatever is expected
Life with a purpose and peace of mind
Consciousness of a different kind
Sunday afternoon in my home in Tennessee
Knowing this is where I’m supposed to be
There’s a Magnolia tree outside my window pane
It always brings me comfort, even in the rain
