In Brit you can be "most stupid" without being the "stupidest." However, if you are regarded as being stupid above all others, you are the "stupidest."

Just as saying that something is "more better" is redundant and thus is incorrect, saying "more stupider" is redundant, and as a result it is incorrect.
In a particular automotive forum (I won't identify which one!), somebody posed a question regarding whether she should put her transmission into neutral or whether she should "use the break to hold the car at a read light".
I could give her some recommendations for good reading lights if she wishes, but perhaps she just needs to take a break...
