Buena Vista- mispronounced as byoo-nah vista

Pueblo- mispronounced as pee-eb-low

My all time favorite- Colorado pronounced col-a-ra-duh

nuclear is pronounced noo-clee-ur NOT noo-cya-lur

When someone professes to have a "colledge" education

Alot is not a word (although I swear I always thought "alright" was )

When people type "opps!" instead of "oops!"

When people say "I could care less" when they mean to say "I couldn't care less".

Two items I would add:

Verbage actually means to add excessive wordiness. I hear it all the time where the intent is for someone to add some extra meaningful data.

Peruse is usually used to mean to quickly scan something. However, the American Heritage Dictionary defines it as "To read or examine, typically with great care." But to make it more difficult for people, the Merriam-Webster dictionary offers two definitions which are diametrically opposed: "1. a: to examine or consider with attention and in detail : study b: to look over or through in a casual or cursory manner." No wonder people consider English to be one of the hardest languages to learn. Those who define its words can't even determine what they mean.
