does anyone else practice this? i have written a few pieces with this in mind, it is kind of liberating.
case in point, i was talking with a fine, female friend of mine (that's another story) the other day, and she mentioned that she was drinking a cup of chai and thinking about me "well, not in that stalker sort of way..." (probably because i left the chai mix at her place). the "stalker" idea really stuck out to me when she added it.
later that night, i thought about that idea: a stalker who is drinking chai and thinking about his/her quarry, it inspired me to produce a piece of poetry! i found that pretty odd, because i haven't written any poetry for several years. i guess it may have helped that i happened to be sipping my own glass of chai while pondering.
I want you...
my chai.
Smooooth...
luscious.
I taste you...
my chai.
So sweet,
sooo hot.
Mmmmm...
soothing,
savory,
sumptuous.
i think it would fit very will in a setting with a partially drunken glass of chai on a table in front of someone as the poem is spoken with a lustful tone. or, at the very least, pronouncing the words as they're written and drawing out the last word of each stanza about 50% longer than it would normally be said.
