Does Wyoming have any large areas with trees? When we finally settle down we would like to buy about 100 acres of forest. We just love having trees around us.

Thank you.

Most of the areas with trees are located in the northwest part of the state around Yellowstone and Grand Teton. You can also find forested areas in the Black Hills in the northeast part of the state along the South Dakota border and in areas around Laramie (which I am pretty unfamiliar with).

There are large forested areas south of I-80 going west from Laramie to almost the Utah line. There's enough to support commercial logging. It's not too well-known but a beautiful area. Check Robertson, Wyoming.

Yellowstone and Grand Teton have the biggest; the Wind River Mountains are very nice.

Yellowstone is in Park County - far northwest corner. Tetons are in Teton County - Just south of Park County. The Wind River Mtns are primarily in Fremont County with some in Sublette County.

Spanning over 100 miles from the edge of Yellowstone Park to South Pass in central Wyoming the Wind River Mountain range is Wyoming's largest. It includes more than 40 peaks that are in excess of 13,000 feet, including Wyoming's tallest, Gannett Peak at 13,804. It lays primarily is Fremont County and the northern part of Sublette County and is also home to the Wind River Indian Reservation. Much of it is only accessible by foot or horseback.

There are, of course, also the gorgeous Big Horn Mountains.
