well now what? i have so much opinion on the university`s influence on this towns economy i`m opting for speechless. i guess i gotta move again.

i have sought out and talked with every machinist i can find here in Laramie and the overwhelming advice i have received from them is " move to Casper, Gillette or Rock Springs".

That's where the extractive industries work is located for now.

so if "machinist" is what you do for a living, they are preferable to the different focus of the University town which has minimal mining/oil patch activity .....

there a few machine shops here, they do outside ciontracts to keep busy, like Great Plaines Drill, safe companies, airplane Co. one even made parts for Browning at one time.
