Looking at possibly relocating there, but would like any info on it you may have.

In central part of Wind River Reservation. 18 miles to Riverton. Maybe about 500 right there.

Some irrigated land. Some not. Big differences in look and usefulness.

Not that much snow right there; but what comes may stick around. Dozens of winter nights will go below zero. 4-6 months of mountain access? Unless you go beyond the norm. Lowland lakes are pretty barren looking. Not sure how good the lake fishing is. Will depend on the fisher.

Been through there a few times. It's a bend-in-the-road village where there is no bend in the road. Not much there.... Riverton is a dozen miles away for a real town, and where the real commerce is in the area.

Not much snow ever sticks there. It is in the dry shadow of the Wind River Range and the Absarokas about 50 miles to the west. Very dry but not desert. IIRC it is outside of the reservation.

Yeah, I read a high level map too quickly / wrong. And it is mis-presented on another map I checked. Looks like some of the land near the river was carved out of the reservation area for ranch settlers. Still reservation land pretty near around it on 3 sides.

We are looking at moving back down to the lower 48 and I'm looking at areas where I'll get the most for my buck! (house, garage, maybe a shop and some acreage) Also, I want to be in a state where I can hunt elk every year, since there aren't many places to hunt moose, and out of town. The winters are just getting too long for me up here in Alaska....it is the long dark days, that I am having trouble with.

Might check into Powell. North part of Wyoming since Cody is too expensive.

OK. Have you been to Wyoming before?

You said “we”. How many people are we talking about here?
