The best thing about Cheyenne is that it's on the Colorado boarder... lol. Well not all laughs. If you are in Casper it's a long drive to somewhere bigger. Same with Jackson, Cody, Buffalo, Rock Springs, etc. In Cheyenne it's an hour south to Fort Collins, an hour west to Laramie, and 2+ hours down to Denver. I wouldn't want to make those drives everyday, but when the roads are clear in Nov to April they sure make an easier get-away Saturday or weekend. Plus the flights out of Denver will beat any of those other towns when you want to really get away somewhere!! The only other similar option is Evanston and it's drive down to the Salt Lake City area. If you are seriously considering Cheyenne, then you should also explore Evanston and the surrounding area.

Rapid City has pretty good flight options and is all I90 from Gillette. Doesn't seem to be nearly the price gouging you see in GCC, which is strictly three UA flights per day to Denver.

Good news for Rock Springs.. https://oilcity.news/community/2021/...enovation/?amp
