Good suggestions above.

I would think that somewhere in the Yukon in Canada would be the most remote in North America.

Actually this got me thinking about beautiful movies...

Over the course of 11 notoriously complicated months of shooting, The Revenant was filmed primarily in Alberta, Canada, but also in British Columbia, Montana, and Argentina.

I lived in remote places in Idaho and Alaska in the 70's and 80's and I doubt there are all that remote any longer (practically nothing is.). We drove up through Canada and one day we drove the entire day without seeing another car. We stopped at a mom and pop restaurant/motel in Canada. That was back when that road was still gravel.

I think it practically needs to be an Alaska or Canada location to be believably remote.

Here you go but not in Wyoming. It is in Nevada on the Idaho border. Maybe the mountains are not as beautiful as what you are looking for, but you asked for remote. It is REMOTE. May be "too much of a good thing."

Jarbridge, Nevada.

Thanks for the replies! I have stayed in north western Montana in December but only for a few days. Wish I could take a few months and stay up there for research but we have a ranch of our own we get snowed into in the Alleghenies in the winter.

Granite Creek in Teton and Sublette Counties. Some summer homes on forest service land which are not accessible in the winter. Some private land back there but not much. The road ends at the Granite Hot Springs swimming pool.

Snowmobile access only this time of year.

The waterfall downstream from the pool is pretty.
