big 4 too much control. seen lot of neighbors liquidate cow herd, but still running summer grass cattle. Too much money for young people to get a start, but the bank that won't give them money for livestock will give them money for a tractor and farm equipment.

Fun fact. Florida produces more beef than Wyoming.

Curious what that means for hay production and if it will be cut back considerably.

Very mild winter so far coming off a very wet 2023.

I've never seen the amounts of hay still stacked as I have this year..Incredible!

That could change drastically if this year ends up being a large wildfire year, great Lord forbid!

Wow, the Big Four go really deep! And, per Jody's info above, it sounds like the banks may be in cahoots, keeping money away from would be start-up ranchers. No wonder farmers and ranchers world-wide are up in arms! https://www.kcur.org/2023-07-28/ranc...ation-big-four https://www.hcn.org/issues/43-5/the-...meatpackers-1/

It's because of the cost of ranching and other horrible hardships.

Support farmers and ranchers. No farmers, no food. No workers, no product.
