My 2 year cable special ends this month.
My $39.99 will go up to $51.90. I'll lose dozens of channels. The $51.90 is for basic and basic plus.

By the way, the $39.99 is before that add in all the other fees. It's actually $48.23 after all those regulatory fees.
And curiously, the Internet is $46.95 and no taxes or anything added.

I do not have the story from yesterday, but it explained why cable internet was taking business away from DSL.
Cable companies are offering service up to 10 times faster than DSL, so they are stealing customers and able to raise prices due to internet speed. (if anyone wants to read it, let me know and I'll find it)

If you are a Comporium customer, you may have gotten their August newsletter by e-mail. The subject was "want to go faster?" Do they mean our cars? Surely they do not mean internet.

You can cancel your service by phone unless you have equipment. In that case, you have to return the equipment to the office before you cancel. The reason for this would be all the customers in the past who never brought the cable boxes and modems back, and subsequently never paid the final bill after being billed for the equipment. You can thank all those people.
