Our son 9th grade currently attends York Prep. The School is okay, teachers are great and the atmosphere is friendly and very supportive. However he is in a Algebra class that is going so fast that he is not grasping. We've had numerous conferences and emails. Tutoring etc... The class is around 24 students and he feels he is not getting any extra attention or help. The teacher even admitted that she does not have enough books to give out.
She would like to divide the class in a tech and honors class but has not. The class is moving at such a fast pace that I feel that he will fail.
My sister in Philadelphia said that her son is enrolled in a virtual school that he loves and its free. They sent him a computer, books and he logs in daily and parents are alerted of all his grades, progress and etc...
Our son is ADD not ADHD (no medication)and even though he does well in his other classes the math class is the problem.
Any Suggestions would be most helpful.

Here are a couple of websites, which have information on free SC virtual classes. I have not used either of them, but have heard them both mentioned by parents:
Free Online Public School from Home: South Carolina Connections Academy
South Carolina Virtual School Program

Hello, Our kids were enrolled in SCVCS for about a year. There is no fee and they were enrolled mid-year last year. They shipped all the materials to the house. If you qualify, they will send/lend you a computer. I do not know the details of that system. Overall, it was a very good program.

Our issue with them was you didn't have the same flexibility as a traditional home school (because it is not one). My wife needed surgery in Mid-Oct and needed a couple weeks of flexibility and it was going to be difficult to work out. You have to log a certain amount of hours. If not for that, we would probably still belong.

Please PM me with any other questions as I'll forward them ot my wife. She taught for many years and has a good understanding of all this stuff. I just go to work.
