We went tonight. I think they have not quite gotten their pricing quite right yet. DH who does all of the grocery shopping remarked that some items are still more expensive than Harris Teeter and higher than the Rock Hill Walmart. Being where it was, I had expected a little more pizzazz in the merchandise, like when we used to shop in the Avon, CT location. That Walmart was more "high-end" than others in the area. So far this was disappointing but we'll give it time. It is more convenient than the RH location.
You have to be really careful at Walmart. They are notorious for pricing certain things really low to bring you in and then pricing certain things higher. To really get the best prices you have to shop at different stores anyway as long as you don't have to go far out of your way or the extra gas cancels out any savings.
I noticed that it wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be though.

bibit - I must admit...I have never thought of using Wal-Mart and "high-end" in the same sentence!
In Sugar Land, TX, a Whole Foods Market just opened down the street from our Walmart. While our Walmart already carried many items considered high-end, they have added quite a bit to their inventory to stay competitive: organic produce, spelt pasta, specialty rices and almond butter to name a few.
Sugar Land is much different that here... You guys have more competition on the grocery store selection...Wholefoods, HEB, Central Market, Randall's, Kroger, Rice...we only have Food Lion(Bloom), Earth Fare, Harris Teeter and Lowe's Foods....
I lived in The Heights for 2 years...loved Houston...miss it...but love the Charlotte Area more....
Memories......

I went there Friday night and this afternoon and it was a very pleasant experience! There was a lot of cars in the parking lot but the store did not seem crowded. The check out lines were incredible!! They had a ton of them open and I did not even have to stand in line either time!! It was such a nice experience, unlike all of the times I had gone to the RH Wal-Mart where It stressed me out to no end!! Always had to wait forever at the register and the store in general just stressed me out!! I had actually stopped going there because of it. I am very glad to have the Tega Cay Wal-Mart!!!
