Has anyone eaten at Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers? WBT Radio just mentioned it and said it was good. There's apparently one in Indian Land (or coming soon) and their web site said there is one in Rock Hill. Looks a little like Steak & Shake, which I love. So why go elsewhere?
Its open in Rock Hill and there is not one currently in Indian Land. I went to the one in Concord. Its VERY much like Culvers. Same type of food. I have not been back, but I would go again. Steak & Shake is MUCH cheaper, and directly across the street.
When I first went there they were great. Last time I went they forgot to give me my ice cream and the burgers were burned to a crisp. They have thin patties and if they burn them, there is nothing left... same thing happens constantly with Culvers and Steak n Shake. I don't even go to Steak n Shake anymore. As for Freddys I was a bit miffed because I'm already paying a premium price, so you expect it to be super great. Anyway I complained but I haven't been back to try it again. I like their frozen custard though.
Another over priced fast food chain. Ordered an unsweet tea there once in Rock Hill at the drive thru, since the Steak and Shake line was too long. How about they got my order wrong! Really? How hard is it to give me an unsweet tea with 3 splenda. Couldn't imagine ordering a full meal or more. Have never been back. Had to go inside for splenda and paid more than double for a tea where the same thing is $1 at steak and shake. Would be nice to see some restaurants/businesses that are NOT chains coming to the new shopping centers.
Freddy's is indeed similar to Culver's and Steak and Shake. They all have the thin patty steak burgers and custard style ice cream. I enjoy Culver's double cheeseburger. I usually request a side of Culver's tartar sauce and it tastes like a Frisch's Big Boy burger. And Freddy's has a burger with the 1000 Island style sauce.
