It was on the first page of the Lancaster News a few weeks ago that the City of Lancaster recently moved the body of Leroy Springs from his resting spot on the site of the old mill. When he died in 1931, he was buried on the mill site in a spot called the "Rose Garden." As the mill expanded, it was built around him then on top of him. His resting place was eventually near where the clock tower was in the front of the mill.
After the mill was closed and then demolished, he languished there for more than 15 years. But the City recently found his burial spot and moved him to the Old Presbyterian Church on Gay Street just down the road from the Springs House where he lived (and also attended church.)
It is an interesting read if you have not done so this far and can get around their pay wall --
