Fort Mill is a fantastic area, and lots of people want to be there. Good schools, lower property taxes. and lower taxes on gas which means less expensive than Charlotte. Right now there are many homes for sale in every area, not just fort mill. But this is a good thing for you though. It is a buyers market, and you will have many more homes to choose from. Fort Mill has gone through a boom over the last few years, and devolpers have anticipated many sales.
Make sure you obtain the services of a buyes agent (at no cost to you) and they will be able to help you navigate through all of your options in Fort Mill and surrounding areas.
I hope this helps, and ask if you have any other questions.

Fort Mill and Indian Land are great places to live and in recent years many residential areas have been developed. There could be several reasons why there are so many homes available to purchase now; one due to financial institutions approving loans without proper verification of income and the buyer not being able to make the high payments. In the last couple of years a lot of homes in the area have been foreclosed on or owners are selling to get out making mortgage payments they cannot afford.
I think it is because the builders have taken the natural step and branched out beyond Charlotte. There are also a lot of people taking advantage of the fact that this is a growing area and are selling their homes to the newcomers. There is also a fair amount of job transfers that occur in this area. People come for a few years, then transfer out to another part of the country. That is what is causing my departure. I grew up in this area and absolutely love it. It is an attraction for many. Sadly, I have been transferred elsewhere and have had to put my dream home on the market. If you are still interested in coming to the area, I may be able to give you some insight.

Where are you going, hopefully alot cooler than here.
I can tell you this - the Charlotte area is VERY transient. It's mostly corporate, therefore, people getting transferred in n' out all the time! We transferred here from Cali for my husband's job. We've had a couple of families move from our neighborhood due to job transfers to another state. Sadly, that's just the way it is. But the good thing is - it's a great place to be while you're here/there.

It's great HERE, too (except for the humidity). You not like it here?
