Description: City Hospital of Scottsdale was founded in 1962 as a 120-bed facility. As the Northeast Valley grew, so did the hospital and its mission. For most of its existence, it has been known as Scottsdale Memorial Hospital, but in 1998 changed its name to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn. It is a 285-bed, full-service hospital, known for its cardiovascular medicine, obstetrics, orthopedics, and oncology services. Its emergency department is a Level I trauma center that serves the East Valley and much of south-central Arizona. The hospital also provides an urgent-care center; outpatient surgery and recovery care; inpatient and outpatient facilities for physical, occupational, and speech therapy; a cardiac center; 15 operating suites, including 2 specifically equipped for open-heart surgery; a critical-care unit; a freestanding birth center with 12 couplet care rooms and 9 labor and delivery rooms; and a Level II nursery. The hospital also houses hyperbaric oxygen treatment, a total joint center, a sleep disorder center, weight loss surgery, a diabetes center, and primary care through the Family Practice Center.
