Description: Valley families with little kids know and love the park’s main train, a model of the Rio Grande Western Railway. It chugs a little over a mile through 30 acres of parkland. You board at Stillman Station, a replica of a historic Arizona train depot. Railroad buffs should head to the corner of the park housing displays of railroad memorabilia. There you’ll find a Pullman car that was used by several US presidents, a 1906 Baldwin locomotive, a 1914 Santa Fe baggage car, and a machine shop dating from 1903. There’s also a 10,000 square-foot Model Railroad Building. For most of the year, rides on the train and carousel are offered daily, starting at 10 a.m. and running until dark. A ride costs $2; children younger than 3 ride free. A Southern Pacific caboose houses a snack bar. The park hosts free concerts and other events in the cooler months.
