Description: Although time travel hasn’t been perfected just yet, you may want to try the next best thing: the Arizona Renaissance Festival. For 8 weekends from February through the end of March, costumed folk, be they kings or commoners, stroll the 30-acre grounds entertaining the crowds in much the same way they did at a 16th-century marketplace. This includes jousting, jesters, Renaissance music, and dancers. The food sold is much the same as it was in days of yore. Craftspersons create and sell their wares. Bring your wallet; most rides cost extra. The fair is held rain or shine from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Take Oracle Road north to Pinal Pioneer Parkway—Highway 79—to Florence Junction, where you catch US 60 for 7 miles.Tickets prices vary; kids under age 5 are free. Discount coupons are available at all Arizona Fry’s Food Stores.
