Description: Up in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains, Ginza puts out some super sushi and other Japanese specialties. Dark paneling, soothing music, and a great sushi bar helmed by owner Jun Arai make this the go-to sushi destination. Lunch features bento boxes and sashimi specials for reasonable prices, great with a tall glass of iced matcha green tea. Unusual offerings include yamamoito, a starchy mountain potato served shaved and icy cold, and nattou, the fermented sticky soybeans that are definitely an acquired taste for non–Japanese nationals. The fish here is super fresh, and Jun San (born in Nagano, Japan) is a master at slicing them just right for his signature rolls, sashimi platters, and sushi specials (check the board for new ones daily).
