Description: Both kids and their parents have an opportunity to see and often touch more than 400 kinds of mounted animals from around the world here. Bighorn sheep, for example, are perched along a large boulder display, showing how they live and interact in the mountains around the Sonoran Desert. Another display graphically shows the huge size difference among bears, from the smallest black bear to the grizzly. The nocturnal area depicts desert creatures of the night. Other species on display include reptiles, insects, and birds. Visitors can also watch award-winning nature films in the 100-seat theater, learn about wildlife through interactive computer displays, or shop for unique gifts from around the world.Except for major holidays, the museum is open Mon through Fri from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sat and Sun 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and is wheelchair accessible. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and students, $3 for kids 4 to 12, and free for younger ones.It’s located 5 miles west of I-10 via Speedway Boulevard to Gates Pass Road.
