Description: In the heart of the Fuller Park Historic District is a grandiose, three-story Second Empire mansion built in 1889 for local banker Edward Churchill. With close to 10,000 square feet of space (and that doesn’t include the full basement or the pillar-supported, three-sided veranda), it was said to be the largest domicile in Napa Valley for decades. The interior is essentially unaltered. There are four grand parlor rooms with beveled and leaded glass and redwood moldings and fireplace frames. You get a full breakfast in the dining room, plus complimentary wine and cheese (and fresh-baked cookies) in the afternoon. Play croquet in the side garden, borrow a tandem bicycle, or just stroll around the acre of grounds and toast the fat wallet of Edward Churchill. In-room spa services can be arranged, too.
