Have you ever wondered if your child could be the next Little Miss or Mr. Avocado? Then don’t miss this family-oriented outdoor street fair in downtown Fallbrook, which features recipe contests, booths selling arts and crafts, live music, and lots of food—everything from ribs and potato salad (with chunks of avocado in it, of course) to burgers smothered in avocado and, yes, even avocado ice cream. Of course, there’s plenty of guacamole, too.At various venues connected by free shuttles, the fair includes an organic farmers’ market, art show, and antique aircraft display. And, lest we forget, “sports” such as pit spitting, avocado pit races, and the ever-popular avocado bowling competitions (all in good fun). The event is usually held on a Sunday in mid-April, but call for dates. With no admission, it’s high time you attended this event.
