Description: The Old Town GuestHouse was newly built in 1997 as a bed-and-breakfast with 8 luxury rooms (1 king, the rest queen beds). The three-story brick building is in perfect harmony with the 1859 period construction of the historic Old Colorado City, which surrounds it. The inn is located on the site of the 1892 city hall, fire station, and jail, which was flanked by saloons, gambling parlors, and brothels. Today, its neighbors are candy shops and great little restaurants—a little more tame. Though it looks old, the amenities all scream 21st century: Rooms come with a hot tub or steam shower, coffeemaker, iron, refrigerator, hairdryer, TV, DVD, VCR, CD/MP3 players, and phone with messaging. Guests also get Internet access (Wi-Fi and wired). On the cozy size, they also have fireplaces and private balconies. Need some diversion? Check out the pool tables, pinball machine, darts, or the exercise equipment. Unlike some B&Bs, this one is wheelchair accessible. They don’t take pets, but children are allowed under certain conditions (ask) . . . and smoking is permitted only on the balconies. Don’t leave without breakfast! It’s a full three-course meal with a hot entree, warm muffins or bread, fresh fruit, and cereal. Tea and juice are available, and the coffee pot is on all the time. If all this isn’t enough to convince you, the GuestHouse has had a AAA four-diamond rating for 12 years running and it’s often voted the best B&B in local surveys. It’s also a member of the Select Registry.
