Description: Except for the occasional platter of sizzling fajitas whisked from the kitchen, you don’t see much tableside cookery at Mexican restaurants. But that’s one of the things that makes Sonterra Grill unique. This downtown eatery draws a business crowd at lunch and couples and families at night, and they all enjoy the preparation of guacamole at tableside (customized to their taste!). They also might relish the bananas Foster prepared right next to their table and flamed for their meal’s grand finale. Some say the fajitas here are the best in town, but Sonterra Grill doesn’t dare take the beef and guacamole enchiladas off the menu, or they’d have a riot on their hands. The colorful, casual atmosphere (check out the cloud ceiling) and some private dining rooms make it a memorable place to dine a deux or with a group. They have a full bar, but try one of their margaritas. They have more than 30 tequilas and the slushy drink (or on the rocks, if you prefer) is made with all fresh ingredients, not mixers. Open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily; closed Sun.
