Inside you’ll find a restored 19th-century shop with wooden floors and a deck. You can come here just to pick out a creamy, delicious cheese, or you can have a meal in the little bistro in the back. The eatery offers a small but tasty menu of fondue, bruschetta, and, of course, cheese plates. They also have larger dishes like short ribs and roast chicken. Next door is Thames River Wine & Spirits, owned by the same company and featuring an outstanding brick cellar. You can even check it out while you’re waiting for the food through the shared door. Combining wine and cheese makes so much sense, it makes you wonder why more of these shops and bistros aren’t around.
