Description: In the heart of SoNo, this cafe and retail shop is actually run by the Knipschildt Chocolatier company, which has created one of the world’s top-rated chocolate truffles. The little cafe serves sandwiches, salads, crepes, and tea, as well as the amazing chocolates for which it is named. If you like mochas, try the eponymous Chocopologie drink, one-half espresso and one-half rich chocolate, topped with a lavender foam. You will likely never drink “mocha” at a chain coffee shop again without comparing it unfavorably to this one. Knipschildt chocolates all have female names, like Hannah or Helena, and usually are sold at high-end markets and shops. But you can get them here at Chocopologie without the markup. In fact, you can walk to the “gallery” next to the cafe and peek into the factory through a window to watch the chocolatiers in action.
