Description: Celebrity Chef Todd English owns this restaurant, so you know it’s good. In 2001, English was named Restaurateur of the Year by Bon Appetit. He has his own cooking and travel series, Food Trip with Todd English, on PBS, for which he won an Emmy nomination. And he’s the official chef of the airline you might take to get to South Florida—Delta.)There’s definitely a Continental touch to Wild Olives. The cocoa-colored walls sport oversized rectangular mirrors, along with colorful modern art. And there’s a patio area with brown wicker chairs and ceiling fans. The cooking is as you might expect—imaginative. You can start off with appetizers such as Carpet Bagger Oysters, wrapped in beef carpaccio; or fig and prosciutto flatbread, with crispy rosemary crust, jam, and gorgonzola cheese. Then you can go on to brown sugar cured bone in rib eye, with Parmesan whipped potatoes and roasted root vegetables. And you’ll want to save at least a bit of room for desserts such as cookies and cream or Todd’s ricotta cheese cake, with pecan crumbles, cranberry compote, and whipped cream.
