Description: Upscale vegan cuisine isn’t that easy to find—which might be why Pamela Anderson herself came for the opening of this restaurant nearly a decade ago. Whether it was her celeb status that got it on the map initially, Sublime has held its own for nearly a decade, and it not only offers meat- and dairy-free dishes but cholesterol free, too. The interior is all modern Zen with beiges and browns, and the dishes are inventive and sure to wow the biggest carnivores—must tries include the “caviar” appetizer (lemon, red onion, chopped tofu, chive, and a blini) and the Portobello Stack (portobello mushrooms, sautéed spinach, roasted tomato, red potatoes, cauliflower, and mashed potatoes). The intention of the owner (an active animal rights activist) is to prove that vegan is not dull, but that it is outright “Sublime.” She’s succeeded there. Hours are Tues through Sun, 5:30 to 10 p.m. Closed Mon.
