Description: At Sinclair’s Ocean Grill, you can sit in the handsome, Caribbean-accented dining room and gaze out at the ocean where your dinner may have been caught just a few hours earlier. Sinclair’s has been a popular North County spot for years. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic in the evening. Not surprisingly, seafood is the specialty here. Start off with the lobster bisque, which comes with a lobster crab fritter garnish; or the grilled portobello. When it comes to salads, the baby arugula and shaved fennel, citrus salad comes with pan-fried goat cheese, macadamia nut brittle, and black pepper vinaigrette. Then you can get into some serious seafood. The lobster and crab stuffed grouper is a standout, with stuffed medallions, tarragon and sherry sauce, and vegetables. The grilled mahi mahi is juicy and succulent, sitting atop brown rice and vegetables. The oven roasted salmon comes with lump crab orzo, sautéed asparagus, and an herb citrus sauce. The beef tenderloin’s delicious, as well, as is the tri-colored linguini. There’s a good selection of wines, and excellent desserts.
