Description: James Beard–award winner Michelle Bernstein brings casual, fine dining to Miami’s rapidly gentrifying Northeast Miami. The restaurant has become a destination for true epicureans who reject the flash and pomp typical of high-end South Beach restaurants. Bright blue walls, orange banquets, and chairs from local thrift stores create a casual, welcoming atmosphere. Bernstein fuses her classic French training with her Latin background to create traditional dishes with a twist. A crowd favorite is blue cheese and jamon croquetas, which are served with fig marmalade. All sweetbreads are prepared with orange juice and bacon. The menu offers half portions, too, giving diners the option to sample three or four dishes instead of just one. Finish off the meal with a vamped-up version of the Betty Crocker classic baked Alaska.
