Danny K’s Alley Café - Restaurants - Tampa Bay, Florida

City: Tampa Bay, FL
Category: Restaurants
Telephone: (727) 938-9452
Address: 118 E. Court St.

Description: Danny K’s sits in the interior courtyard of the downtown Taylor Arcade, an early 20th-century office/small-business two-story building. That means people can—and do—walk through from Court Street on one side to Tarpon Avenue on the other. The building is no longer in its prime, but it’s a reminder that there are other ways of using space than strip stores and high-rise buildings. People come here to chat about the latest doings at City Hall or to talk shop. They come for breakfast, for lunch, and, except for Sundays, for dinner—and for coffee in between. Breakfast is served all day, and there’s a good selection of omelettes and Eggs Benedicts, including a Smoked Salmon Benedict and a Greek Benedict with gyro meat, tomatoes, and feta cheese plus hollandaise sauce. Waffles are made with a malted mix, and French toast can be made with regular, sourdough, or raisin bread. You’ll find a Greek salad with non-traditional garbanzo beans in addition to the usual ingredients. And there are other creative salads on the menu—a Philly Supreme Salad with shaved ribeye steak (or chicken) with sautéed onions, peppers, and Provolone cheese over a large house salad. Mushrooms, too, if you want to pay a bit extra for them. Burgers, Cuban sandwiches, and pita wraps round out the menu. There are a number of vegetarian choices.Danny K’s opens every day at 7 a.m. They close Monday through Saturday at 9 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m.
