Description: Founded with 22 students in 1974, Life College at one time was the single largest chiropractic college in the world and has the world’s largest chiropractic library. It has 15 buildings and peaked in the 1990s with more than 4,000 students and 265 faculty members. A problem with accreditation in 2002 saw an exodus of many students. But now, with accreditation restored and a new chancellor in place, the student population is up to more than 1,900. The campus also boasts a historic village of log structures dating from the 1790s that were moved to the school from around the Southeast; it’s free and open to the public seven days a week during daylight hours. Life confers the degrees of doctor of chiropractic, bachelor of business administration, bachelor of science in nutrition for the chiropractic sciences, bachelor of science in nutrition for dietetics, and master of sport health science. The fully accredited college has more than 50 service, social, and fraternal clubs and many sports teams, including nationally ranked basketball, track, and rugby teams.
